Tarifa only 20 years ago, before it was discovered by pioneering windsurfers, was little more than a small fishing village which the average tourists avoided because of its winds. Today other than windsurfing and kitesurfing Tarifa has become very fashionable and attracts all active and nature loving people.
Despite growing considerably and offering most holiday facilities, Tarifa still preserves its natural and secluded atmosphere. Even at the height of the summer season you are still likely to find scarcely populated virgin beaches.
Dulce Nombre Hotel reflects the new and the old. It is out of all the hubbub, however still within walking distance to the trendiest beaches of all and yet is at the foot of the National Park of the Acornocales over looking the Las Dunas bay and with Africa on the horizon.
